Each year, the Lexology knowledge base publishes a number of books comparing the legal systems of different countries. One of the areas of law for which this is done is aviation liability. Robert Pessers has supplied the chapter on the Netherlands for many years now. In the 2023 edition, he again provides a short and concise overview of the Dutch interpretation of all relevant concepts the field of aviation liability. Related topics such as incident investigations and possible criminal liability of airlines are also discussed. The contribution ends with a note regarding the intended reduction of the number of flight movements at Schiphol, which is currently the subject of appeal proceedings between the State of the Netherlands and several airlines. Robert Pessers is also involved in these proceedings.
