Robert has been working as a lawyer at Van Traa since 1983. Robert mainly handles cases regarding transport and insurance law, with a focus on transport insurance disputes, company liability insurances and ‘wet recourse’.
Robert is well-known within the transport and insurance branch. Who’s Who Legal refers to Robert as ‘leading practitioner’ in the area of Insurance & Reinsurance and Shipping.
Furthermore, Robert is recommended by Chambers Europe (2021 Edition), Insurance and Transportation: “Robert de Haan has significant expertise in maritime, road and rail matters. He focuses on insurance and liability disputes. Also he offers clients expertise in coverage and liability claims, often within the transport sector. Robert a member of the Disciplinary Court in The Hague, the Bar Association disciplinary court, and co-founder of the Dutch Association for Transport Lawyers (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Vervoerrecht Advocaten (NVA)). He is a member of the Association for Insurance Science (Vereniging voor Verzekeringswetenschap (VvVW)) and the Sociëteit De CausaRie.
